Rachel’s primary areas of practice include debt recovery, land dispute matters as well as labour and industrial relations matters.
Rachel has assisted clients with debt recovery, such as drafting letters of demand, negotiating settlement with the debtor, and commencing debt recovery action against the debtor in court. Rachel has experience in drafting various cause papers for bankruptcy proceedings, winding up proceedings and foreclosure proceedings.
Additionally, Rachel has also assisted clients in resolving various land disputes such as defending claims relating to Native Customary Rights (NCR) and drafting various cause papers for striking out applications relating to NCR and other land related matters. Rachel has also assisted in advisory work involving carrying out research and drafting legal advice for various financial institutions on various legal issues relating to land law in Sarawak.
Rachel has also assisted her clients in defending claims from their former employees at the Labour Court and Industrial Court for various claims such as overtime claims, termination benefits and unfair dismissal of employees.
